Colombo On Sunday, the Sri Lanka serial bomb blast took place on Sunday. According to the reports, 8 sites have been blasted, including churches and hotels. So far 129 people have died and more than 250 are injured. According to officials, the number of people who could die could increase. Several photos and videos of the local media are also being revealed, which shows how frightening the blasts were. After this incident sensation has spread in the area.

At the time the bombs struck in Sri Lanka people were busy celebrating Easter Sunday. An explosion took place in the St. Anthony Church of Kochkeed in Colombo. There is news of a blast in the church of Katana. As well as Shangri La, the Cinnamon Grand Hotel and the Kingsbury Hotel also exploded in the blasts. Sri Lankan media quoted hospital sources as saying that treatment of more than 200 people is currently taking place. The Sri Lankan government has also released helpline numbers.

Sri Lankan media report that foreign tourists may be among the casualties.

After the explosion, the videos are becoming very viral on social media, in which it can be seen that people are frantic. Blood is visible and the church roofs are flooded. It is unknown who has lead this attack but due to the severity of the blast, authorities are not ruling out terrorism.

Two of the blasts were suspected to have been carried out by suicide bombers, according to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak with reporters.

Police say that a church located in the northern part of Colombo and the city of Negombo was targeted. The blasts were so tremendous that the people living in the surrounding area were shaken. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj says that “I am in constant contact with the Indian High Commissioner in Colombo. Our position remains intact.”
